Age of Consent - New Order
From Power, Corruption & Lies
(via alvareo-deactivated20100702)
there’s a few bands that will always get a reblog from me.
this is one of them.

Violens - “Acid Reign”

Here’s another one of my favorite newer bands. They’re so new that they only have a few songs circulating out there, while they’ve been out on the road as openers building up a fanbase and some awareness. They dropped this song last week along with some fantastic news - this track will be the first single from their debut album ‘Amoral’, due out in September. The single will be out on a limited 7” release including a B-side ‘Space Around the Feel Station’ featuring Washed Out, which can be ordered through the Rough Trade shops website; http://www.roughtrade.com/site/shop_detail.lasso?search_type=sku&sku=328589
If you want to grab this track for yourself, you can get it here; http://t.opsp.in/I8ea
I definitely expect a lot of great music from these lads, and I absolutely love their design aesthetic.
ps - you can also find some more goodies at their official website…
Just 3 more days…
this is going to be a really great album.

Deftones - Anniversary of an Uninteresting Event
here’s a little anecdote about this song.
I was working for Deftones in early 2007 as their road manager. We had just arrived in the UK after being in S. America, Japan, and then Australia, in that order. We spent 3 or so days doing promo in London and finally on the 4th day boarded the busses to take us to the first gig in Liverpool. As we got on the bus Steph said to me “go write us a setlist, whatever songs you want, I don’t care”. I was pretty excited, Chino normally does the setlists, Steph occasionally does them… but I had never seen anyone else do one, let alone ME! The first song I put down, in huge 30-point type, was this one, which they had never played live before, but a song that I really loved. I was so excited at the prospect of them playing my setlist with that song in it.
I didn’t know it but at the time they couldn’t play it. Not then, they weren’t prepared to. When I showed it to Steph he laughed and said “any song but that one”. I was bummed, but they still based that nights set on my outline (although they retooled it a little bit).
A few months back when we had the benefit shows for Chi here in LA, the guys told me there would be some big surprises on the set list, and I was thrilled when they played this song live, FINALLY. It sounded incredible, and I hope they start adding it to their usual repertoire.
